Book Two in A Cape May Trilogy

Although a book cover may seem like a single image, to an author it represents something much greater. It is the first glimpse into an entire world—a promise of the story waiting inside.

For me, this cover captures exactly what I hoped readers would feel before turning the very first page.

I'm incredibly grateful to the talented team at MiblArt—especially Tania—for bringing that vision to life with such care and creativity. Their thoughtful collaboration helped create a cover that captures both the emotional heart and historical setting of No Greater Love.

Returning to Cape May

If you've read Thicker Than Water, you'll recognize familiar faces and beloved places waiting just beyond the cover. Once again, readers will journey to historic Cape May, New Jersey, but this time the calendar has turned to 1923.

America has entered the Prohibition Era, where whispered conversations happen behind closed doors, rumrunners navigate the waters off the Jersey coast, organized crime flourishes, and ordinary families find themselves caught between duty and survival.

The world has changed. So have my characters.

A Story About What Comes After

Many novels explore war. I wanted to explore what happens after.

No Greater Love is a story about the invisible wounds people carry home.

It explores grief. Forgiveness. Marriage. Family loyalty. Trauma. Hope.

And the extraordinary courage required to begin again.

Each member of the Callaway and Culligan families faces impossible choices that challenge their beliefs, redefine their relationships, and force them to confront the past they thought they had left behind.

These themes have always been at the heart of my writing because history is never simply about events. History is about people.

Inspired by Real History

One of my greatest joys as a historical fiction author is uncovering the forgotten stories hidden within American history.

While writing No Greater Love, I immersed myself in research surrounding:

• Prohibition along the New Jersey coast

• Rum Row and the Coast Guard's fight against bootlegging

• Cape May's rich maritime history

• The lasting effects of World War I on veterans and their families

• The social changes transforming America during the Roaring Twenties

  
  

Many of the events, settings, and historical details woven throughout this novel were inspired by real people and real places.

My goal has always been to create historical fiction that allows readers to step into another era while remaining emotionally connected to the people living through it.

The Journey Continues

Writing this novel challenged me in ways I never expected.

Some scenes made me smile. Others broke my heart. A few stayed with me long after I finished writing them.
